This is a topic with packed download for all my themes.

I divided my themes into two categories:
Official themes - made with HW style in mind, to have them officially included with game.

All these themes contain SVGs. You can download SVGs here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/418a5aj7tr8ac19/KoBeWi%27s_Themes_SVGs.zip
Keep in mind that these SVGs aren't the final objects' look, but were later modified in GIMP to fit them better (cropped etc.)

Unofficial themes - made mostly for fun. They don't follow HW style and sometimes even common sense.

___

Download link for ALL my themes, both official and unofficial and contributed:
https://ufile.io/k54qpxkw
"Official" themes:
https://ufile.io/wo5ikrll
"Unofficial" themes:
https://ufile.io/t5n9fr0y

IMPORTANT
All of the themes use custom music. However, as of today (2019 basically), custom music is no longer included with themes. It's cool and I recommend you to download it. You can get the full pack from here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/js3lkzm1fb20fej/KoBeWi%2527s_Themes_Music_Pack.zip/file
Or from here:
https://mega.nz/#!Yao1nY4b!up7tLqdopKpGGw41EuEKADrzxZ015AWvuV-bTypeejQ
This pack includes all music used by my themes.

___

Here's a full list of themes, with links to separate topics (outdated downloads):
OFFICIAL
Crystal
Belly
Dreamland
Sky
Factory
Beehive
Fire
Slime
Sanctuary

UNOFFICIAL
Standard
Chalk
GIRDERZZZ!!!
Mirage
Zombie
Fan-themes (based on other games)
Bowser
Sudra
Grindea
Contributed themes (someone else's themes I added my stuff to)
Cyberspace
Terraria

___

This topic was originally meant to show my WIP themes I started/plan to start.
Here's the current WIP list:

Quote:
Amusement Park (no screenshots yet, stay tuned!)
Volcano (same)

Other themes that are just started or only planned and might have uncertain future:
Spider
Pipes
Portal

Well, as you can see, I like making themes XD

I planned to make the same kinda curved girder, but canceled this idea because of too noticeable repeated-looking pattern it would make. Your LandTex has better color, but I think the sockets are too big and have no diversity.

Speaking of Portal theme, Does it going to include Portal 1 or 2 related stuffs?

Yes, it was going to use some Portal 1/2 related elements, especially hard light as girder.

By the way, I actually made some Portal graphics a while back (for PAotH, specifically), and I can send you the .svg files if you want to use them in your theme.

Thanks for the images!

I made a new LandTex for Sky and now waiting for 'review'.

I'm working on the Factory right now.
Here is conveyor belt:

Sorry for terrible quality, but I can't record a video, so I made a series of screenshots. Seems like the screenshot flash is captured too, so I had to manually adjust the colors ¬_¬

EDIT:
Pipes

Chimney

Sky is a simple gradient right now, but it looks amazing with the smoke and dark clouds. (oops, I forgot to put the smoke behind chimney)

Nevermind, series of screenshots is easier to crop and convert to gif. All you have to do is drop all frames into GIMP and resize canvas.

But if we are at bugs, there seem to be a bug with sudden death flakes. When there are no normal flakes, skulls and bones float just above water in sudden death. Changing any variables doesn't affect sd-flakes, but it's fixed when normal flakes are specified (can't be 0 though).

There is also a glitch when SDFlake is present and snow is on: (1) different flakes intermix and (2) not all flakes are animated.

Hmmm. This bug seem unfamiliar. Maybe create an issue about it ^^
Could replace snow with hail on SD maybe.

I guess there also a wrong spray painting on cavern maps. It seems that spray quantity is calculated for hollow area, but painted on solid which makes spray density different on landscape and cavern map types.

Well, as you can see, I already posted 9 themes and so far nobody complained :v
Although, in your case, you post your themes every few days and they are lower quality. But I'm not the one to tell you if you should post them or not. I actually played on all your themes and don't mind if you upload more Wink Smiley

But if you are going to post more themes, try to make .hwp packages. Also, don't ask about them in my topic if they are unrelated ;_;

Done. You can put the .hwp files into Data folder of your Hedgewars user directory (on Windows, it's user/documents/Hedgewars).

If you are unsure how the theme should be packed, download one of my themes. .hwp files are normal zips and can be opened by any archiving software (like 7zip).

Packages are easier to install. For your themes for example, I had to download the theme and music separately and needed to move them to respective directories, etc. If you made a package, I'd have to move just one file I downloaded, without even uzipping anything. You can also pack few themes in one package so it doesn't clutter your themes directory.
(Also, unrelated, but your themes for some reason include screenshots inside, which unnecessarily increases their size.)

EDIT:
Talking about multiple themes in pack, I changed this topic to be a collective topic for all my themes. You can download here packages containing all my themes, or only from one category (official/unofficial).

*hint* They are ready to be added to DLC Wink Smiley

I might also make some WIP posts here, like with Factory.

Sneak-peek for my Sanctuary (of the Hedgegods) theme:

The light beam is a horizont right now. Not sure if I should make it part of sky. Also, the walls behind statue could look more interesting. Well, but that's just the general idea.

If you have the objects drawn already and just want to put them in the theme, you can use the theme editor from my signature.

CopherNeue allegedly wrote:

I'm not that fast, really. Of course, there are themes I can do in one day, when I have all the sprites and just need to put them together. But making a theme usually takes much longer than it should. I could make a theme with all SVGs and stuff in a week, but I'd have to make this theme and nothing else at the time. And since I like doing random things, it can take me months to finish one.

EDIT:
Added a mirror for download all my themes, because I (finally, lol) exceeded bandwith on Dropbox. It's been unavailable for 2 weeks or so, so it's not like anyone cares ¬_¬

Also, added more info for some WIP themes. They are in state where there's something to show, but it will take some time to finish them.

EDIT2:

The theme will have to wait until mirrored flakes are in game.

EDIT3:
Probably the best image I have created.

This screenshot shows two of new features coming in 0.9.23: (ignore the water, because screenshoting seems to be broken)

One of them are objects on water (support for it coming in my editor, too).
Second one isn't obvious here. You can specify the number of inland rectangles. Fun fact is, the game doesn't complain if the number is 0. So the objects can be placed at an totally arbitrary point. On the screenshot you can see how two beanstalks effectively expanded the map. Poor Link :<

Fire theme is nearly finished. Should I release updates to my themes or wait for 0.9.23 release? Most of them won't work in 0.9.22 and I don't now if anyone is interested in playing them in alpha.

I'd say 0.9.23 release will be waiting at minimum a few more weeks until unc0rr returns to do the Windows packaging.

Also there's the physfs brokenness to resolve in the interim, if you want to get things moving along Smile

Looks like nobody is interested in my theme updates ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'll just post what was changed then.

I went through all my themes and all of them got chunk graphic. I also changed rubber tool wherever it made sense.

Other notable changes include:
-Bowser: new splash sound, new SD clouds, lava is animated, new mudball
-Chalk: clouds are added again, fixed SD graphics
-Dreamland: upfall flakes, new SD music
-Edin: one land object changed to flakes
-Factory: new music (though might revert that), use of multiple inland rectangles
-GIRDERZZZ!!!: fixes to some objects, so they appear more often
-Kur: two new land objects, one quite rare
-Sky: beanstalks changed to be placed on water

New themes that are already finished:
-Beehive
-Fire
-Evergrind Fields and Flying Fortress (2 fan-themes)

Currently work in progress:
-Sanctuary
-Slime
-Volcano

EDIT:
I think I'm going to finally revive my old theme threads, with all the new updates and provide new links. Sanctuary and Slime themes aren't finished yet, and the Volcano will have to wait. For Volcano, I wanted to use the snow flag to accumulate flakes, but I discovered that the white color is hard-coded somewhere in the engine (probably), and the idea was to use falling ash, not snow. Slime theme uses similar twist - uses the ice flag, even though there's no ice (but there's a slippery slimy slime!).

Anyways, except the creation forum necro-flood in upcoming days XD

You should add a version number to your theme names for forwards-compability. The reason of this is purely technical.

E.g. instead of Belly.hwp, do Belly_v1.hwp. The name of the theme folder needs to change as well.

Also, you don't seem to have uploaded anything to hh.unit22.org yet.

This is very dangerous, sooner or later your files will be gone, especially MediaFire is a very dangerous choice, they delete files quite aggressively.

I also would love to upload some of your themes to the DLC section but I'm not allowed to.

I know that, but I don't like how _v1 stuff gets added to everything and it clutters names for me. There should be a better way to handle versioning. For now, I'll just hope that I won't make updates anymore to existing themes and the current names would stay. If update happens though, I'll just have to add a proper suffix then.

Last time I was on IRC, nemo or sheepy said they'd add my themes to DLC. I even provided a new link and it was then hosted by alfadur I think, but nothing more was done so far.

As far I understand, the “clean” names are supposed to be reserved for the official themes.

Well, now you should definitely add a version number since you made incompatible changes to your previous theme version. Sorry.

The main reason for all this fuzz is mostly because of online games compability.

In detail:
- You can only use a theme online if all players have the exact same version (OK, some exceptions apply, but let's keep it simple)
- Players MUST know which version they have if they want to play online
- Without versions, 2 players can easily end up having a theme with the same name but still get desyncs and get confused why it doesn't work
- Using version numbers is being nice to online players and us, it is kinda a de facto standard around here

I know the version number suffix looks lame to you and I somewhat agree, but this is just how the things are going to work around here, sorry. This suffix is not meant to be part of the real name. Think of it like a file name suffix, e.g. “.txt”.

So e.g. Dreamland_v1 is really just Dreamland.

The compability reasons are more important than the name clutter.

I guess nemo would be opposed if I'd upload just Dreamland.hwp to the DLC section (for the above reasons), because there are already multiple incompatible versions floating around.

Yes, yes, there might be a better solution for versioning one day, and a auto-download feature is still a much needed feature. But we're not there yet. If you have a better idea how to handle this versioning right now, feel free to post a new thread about this. Smile

Also, would you provide download links for 0.9.22?
Because I have no idea when we're finally releasing 0.9.23. I'm starting to get impatient myselves. Big Grin

But... ;_;
I thought about it as a "clean start" ("new beginning"). I updated literally all my themes, so whoever was using them, would have to re-download all of them now. Also, I didn't see anyone use them online anyways. (I know it's a poor excuse xd)

Wuzzy allegedly wrote:

The complete edition still contains 0.9.22 versions of themes. Right now, I'm just updating the particular links, because they are dead anyways. The complete edition will not be changed until stable release of 0.9.23.

Well, I'd just want something that looks good. Simply parsing the version suffix sounds like would be enough.

Something like:

vs

Isn't it better? Would be even better with some options to hide these numbers (maybe with hotkey, lol) or show only newest version or whatever.

That's an interesting suggestion. I like it, nemo is neutral on that one. But either way, this doesn't excuse you from not using version numbers. :P

I just talked again with nemo and he was very clear that w/o version numbers there will be no inclusion to DLC, sorry.
I share this opinion.

From the quality point of view, I think all of your “official” themes are DLC-worthy.

I just talked again with nemo and he was very clear that w/o version numbers there will be no inclusion to DLC, sorry.

I marked everything as v_0, because I'll replace it anyways soon.

KoBeWi, can you please tell us about the licensing of your themes?

Also, I'm especially concerned about the music files you have included. If a music file turns out to be non-free, I might have to remove that and change theme.cfg to use one of the default music files instead.

In any case, hats off for the amount of work you have put into themes so far.

Let's say CC BY 4.0. Should I have to put license file somewhere?

nemo said that he is alright if the music is non-free as long as it's DLC. I was supposed to put a credits file into the package, but I forgot. It will come in updated version, if that's not a problem. The list looks like this: http://lpaste.net/8391224060285026304

I have to admit it went out of control at some point.

0.9.23 is officially out, so it's high time I update my full theme package. And it's done actually, however it's not the definite update yet. I'll add the credits and version numbers, but I'd like to finish Sanctuary theme first. Hopefully hh.unit doesn't have size limit, because all themes are over 100 MB big... (94% of that being music ;_;)

hh.unit22.org only accepts one HWP per theme/map/etc.
It does not accept huge packs with many themes.

I think this makes sense, not everyone wants to download huge theme packs when they are only looking for one specific theme.

If a single theme is larger than 100 MiB, then you should probably try to fix that. Just saying. Wink Smiley
By the way, there are several tools to reduce PNG file size losslessly. Especially for very large PNGs, these tools can be quite helpful.

Uh, no. Whole pack is 100MB. For one theme it would be overkill. I'd have to use FLAC-quality audio and ultra HD photo-realistic textures to achieve that. (that actually gives me idea...)

EDIT:
Some progress on Sanctuary ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Quote:
Kind of hard to come up with elements themed after hedgehog sacred grounds. So far looks ok I think.

EDIT2:
Ok, Sancutary is done. I re-uploaded the full theme package, with version numbers and music credits. I also provided a second, temporary mirror download.
Whoever used my themes before, download them again. Half of them was ninja-updated (fun story, I used a rubber template which had bad pixels, and didn't notice it until now). They have version numbers now anyways.

I'll want the full pack to be included as DLC and also try to upload separate themes to hh.unit22.

btw, official support for version numbers is coming for my theme editor.

If you could at least separate this into your “official” and “unofficial” themes, that would be great.
