Call me boring, but my favorite mode is probably Normal/Default/Default circa 0.9.15.
I play best (relative to other people) on... Space Invasion, maybe?

Custom game mode with 300% damage, 999% rope length, maximum number of mines and barrels, 0 mine time, increased turn time, 200 to 500 health, enabled Vampirism and Laser Sight by default. And of course infinite weapon scheme. Yes, I'm that crazy.

I like the Strategical modes to win it,,,
when i pick the available modes (defaults),,,
i pick Highlander,,, its does not too Overpowered as Crazy,,, TACTIC !!!
Forts ! i like that too C; ,,, i waiting for those forts updatess,,, my favorite forst is WOOD !!! Can't be beaten !!! (its very wrongs though)
