Hi, guys Smile
Well, I was just playing a quick combat vs. a computer and I couldn't help noticing that the AI of my opponent was definitely under Level 4 or 5. So I was wondering - can you perhaps add an option to the quick combat (somewhere in the game's options perhaps so that you don't have to redesign the whole menu) where the player'll be able to choose the AI level. The other things will remain the same - random map, default team etc.

Thanks!

not sure there's much point. Anyone using quick game is probably kind of new to hedgewars and wouldn't want level 5, once you get the hang of it, 4v4 against AI is no challenge at all. 8v1 provides a decent fight, or using restricted weapons.

i play hedgewars at lunch breaks and other times when i don't have the luxury of time. i would love a stronger ai period. one that can use all the weapons, including the rope. also one that can think and fight in the 15 sec rounds that i like to set. right now all the ai does is just sit there.

I was talking about something else. What you're asking for is to increase the abilities of all AIs and make them use bigger variaty of weapons. That's too much work and I haven't seen this in Worms either.

The problem to make the AI stronger is that developers have to 'teach' to the AI to use a weapon, and the AI have to compute what weapon use and then directions, angle and other things like wind, power, ecc. in a few seconds, and that's not easy to do!It's very hard and probably it's not possible for every weapon.

Not only that, but frankly, when you take a look at the game, whether most of the regulars like the idea or not, it's a 'casual' game. Not everyone wants to have to deal with top-notch AI in a quick game. If you want AI that deadly, create your own local game. Personally, I'm tired of the AI in HW Quick game being so bloody difficult.

If I was planning, there wouldn't even be a 'quick' game...just a very simplified version of the local game config screen with a button to access more 'advanced' options...but that's the config for a single player game...and I'm probably the only member on these forums who doesn't want to spend hours learning bugs, glitches and exact angle/power/wind combinations for ultimate points, comes with having a life.

So please, do not turn up the AI in quick game...it's literally the only thing keeping me from switching to wormux.
