Hello there. I only recently found out about Hedgewars and i decided to make a voicepack since it would be funny to suprise my friends with it. I decided that there are probably more than enough people that would like to have something like a Yukkuri voicepack as well.

What is a Yukkuri

Quote:
Yukkuris are fictional creatures created by the fanbase of the Touhou video game series. They consist of (usually) disembodied heads of various characters from Touhou, which are somehow able to move about, speak, and eat, despite the fact that they are only heads.

They get their name from their catchphrase in Japanese, "Yukkuri shiteitte ne!" which literally means "Do it slowly!" but is more often translated as "Take it easy!" The term "Yukkuri" is Japanese for "slowly", but has connotations of being at ease or relaxing. Thus, their name is literally "Slow" or "Easy". -http://yukkuri.wikia.com

So in short it's bassicly a dumb Touhou meme. For some reason a crappy japanese text to speech program is associated with it. If you have no clue what any of this is, the voicepack can still be kinda funny i suppose since it's just badly translated japanese text to speech.

What did i use
I have to make my boys from the Free Software community proud so you'll be glad to know that i used audacity for this. I didn't use a Free Software program to translate from English to Japanese, i just used google. For the actual text to speech i used http://yukkuritalk.com/.

Plans for the future
Although this is most likely a one off thing, you'll be glad to know that i filled out all the core lines as listed on the wiki. I might do some of the bonus lines but don't get your hopes up. If anybody feels like making a newer version or something go ahead. I'd appreciate a shoutout though Wink Smiley.

Something seems to be wrong. Most of the sound files are empty.

Are you sure? I just downloaded the file myself just to make sure i didn't upload a different version and i checked each and every voice clip and they're all there. I played with this voicebank with friends and they heard the voices with no problem as well.

I can hear the sound files fine.

If you're looking to improve the quality of your "badly translated japanese text to speech" I can give you a few brief comments.

I've written my comments like this:
filename - what I heard (what you could change it to)

boring - taikutsuna (You don't need 'na' here as you're just saying "boring" not "boring NOUN")

flawless - kanpekina (As above, you should remove the 'na')

hello - konnichiha (While こんにちは is written with a "ha" in kana, that last sound sound be a "wa" when you vocalize it)

hmmm - no idea what this says

justyouwait - shindekudasai (not technically wrong if you're going for irony, but this means something like the lines of "Please die". Perhaps change to the imperative "shine" instead)

kamikaze - gomenkudasai (translates to "excuse me". Historically kamikaze attacks were accompanied by the cry "tennouheika banzai!" (Long live His Majesty the Emperor!))

missed - no idea what this says

poisoncough - koffu (Sounds like you were going for a cough sound. The onomatopoeia for coughing in Japanese is ゴホゴホ (gohogoho))

illgetyou - not sure what you meant (You could use 'fuzakeruna' or 'buttobashiteyaru' as threats here, though they might be a bit strong for cute characters...)

Good luck, and enjoy.

@Rushkiller, I didn't download it yet, mostly due to being in a screen session and mega insisting on javascript..
But it could be Wuzzy didn't hear anything because some of the sound files are misnamed? We are horribly inconsistent in case, and if your OS is case sensitive, this can be an issue. We probably should just flatten all that in physfs or something.

To be clear: It's the files that were empty, it has nothing to do with casing.
Maybe it's just mega.nz being weird. xD
