The grass cutter- don't see any point in that.
The toy balloon's cool along with the vicious teddy bear (better make it like the skunk in Worms - makes the bitten hedgehog ill for n rounds taking - let's say - 5HP per round.
The might mortar sounds boring. There's a weapon modification around here with a bomb that explodes and launches dozens of mortars wiping out at least 2/3 of the terrain. That's more like it.

I imagined it more like a wide area damage thunderstorm (although without wind affected cloud, interesting idea!), that would be considered a superweapon (only in crates, rare)
Storm, eh? Whut about a tornado then? It'll last very short time on a very small area, but toss every hedgehog on its way with great power. It will also follow the surface of the ground (maybe dig a small trench where it goes).

Ok what about Tofu, Gelly or a Flute?
Size: Twice as thick as "Construction" and 70% as tall as the tallest one. Can be built in the same areas as the "Construction" can.
Tofu:
Makes the shot bounce back.
Burns down to a pyramid pile of crisp if it catches fire.
(doesn't work with the shotgun\desert eagle\sniper\...)
Jelly:
Slows down the shot to the point it stops inside the jelly.
If something already inside the Jelly is shot, it bursts into flames!
If a plane gets stuck in the jelly it will make a 2~3 time as big and dangerous explosion.
VERY EFFECTIVE to stop cakes, UFOs, Bazookas and grenades from obvious directions.
(doesn't work with the shotgun\desert eagle\sniper\...)
Enchanting flute:
Makes a certain close by Hedgehog fall asleep so the he doesn't get focused\get a chance to play the next turn, making the player use a "Switch hedgehog" to be able to use it.
This requires good timing but can be very effective on hardcore games with no "Switch hedgehog" or "Rope".
Wakes up if it gets hit or when the hedgehog team gets a turn.
Add something similar to these weapons from worms:
- Jetpack
- Bungee
- skunk
- minigun/automatic gun
- axe
You'll get something that resembles the jetpack in 0.9.12.
I must admit that the Axe (and maybe some stuff to make the Hogs sick like the skunk did) would be something easy to implement and really useful, but its not up to me to decide when and if to include it.
I also saw a test with something that resembled a mini-gun on youtube but guess they were not able to make something that they really liked with it so it wasn't included in the game.

Yeah, and we could use the same knife model as the Tombery in the picture and call it "Backstab", where obviously the hog had to stab the other from the back otherwise, instead of 50%, it would only take 25% of the Hog's HP.
This weapon also has to have a minimum of 1 damage points just in case the Hog only has 1 left.
But it's just a suggestion, the back-stab detail thing can be harder to program and there is no time to waste, so if we hit anywhere is just perfectly fine!

It was fun watching Worms get squashed and causing 900+ damage.

The thing is that Donkey was very rare and you can't have it as a standard weapon when defining weapon sets.
Either way, I am all in for mega weapons that can only be obtained from supply boxes (e.g. Armageddon, Donkey, Earthquake, etc) and even then if enabled as a battle option.
Fireworks- 1x use,shoots up and breaks into smaller explosive and fire
FlameThrower- Upclose combat,1x use,8 turn wait to use,when hog catches on fire he takes 70 damage and runs in other direction and if he hits another hog they light with 45 damage then 30,25,etc Caution they could run off cliff.
drill tank- 1x use ,drills through ground player control like rc plane cause weak earth quake when pressed space explodes when hit surface(usefull when people go underground to hide)
Also this is not a wep but it good idea - make your own map that can work online too
"Hit and run car" - simply drop the car in front of hog and it drives (same as cake) but knocks hogs and eventually self destucts. maybe 35 points

Water pump - pumps water from a hose (in similar way to the ball gun but with a spray of water) to "partially" drown hogs that are in a hollow (hole) maybe to a max of 50 points
How about a weapon specific to a hogs hat - ie the kiss hats have a guitar spin attack, the sonic hat has a whirl attack, the samurai has a sword etc... just a thought
^ Yeh, right. That's a little bit too much. Say we have 10 groups of different hats (don't include the color-viriaty). There has to be 10 special weapons for each hat-type. And of course we know that there are more than 10 + new hats happen to appear from time to time by this and that user => huge amount of work.

The Grand Piano Strike sounds quite cool! (I'd also thought of an Anvil or a heavy (1 ton? 10 ton? 16 ton?) weight dropping straight down crushing any hog under it...)
I also thought of wanting a 'Fart Attack' - where the hog turns around and farts a cloud of poison gas at his target(seems Smaxx's 'Alp Cheese' would already do this though)
How about a pie thrower? Maybe you throw it like a grenade but instead of exploding it covers the hedgehog with pie. It could do 40-65 damage because you need it to make direct contact instead of just making the impact of the explosion felt by them

Another idea might be a spider hog powerup which would let the current hog walk walls and ceilings. Although this might be more entertaining than really useful.

It's been a long time since the last entry here, so I decided to "freshen" it.
I presume everyone has heard/read or even seen a chameleon. The new weapon will be exactly a chameleon that sh*ts mines. Doesn't sound quite spectaculer right? Well, the thing is that:
1) The chameleon can climb on walls etc. So this property can be taken from the cake - the chameleon will climb here and there.
2) Chameleons have a natural camouflage. So does our buddy. Only the player that controls it and the team players (if present) will be able to see it.
3) The chameleon will explode similar the cake. It'll can walk a short distance and slowly (not like the cake). It'll take 20HP, if it explodes right next to or on a hedgehog.
4) Sh*ting...Ehm....Dropping mines will be done like the rockets in the RC Plane - pressing Fire-button to release them. Mines will be invisible for the enemy (and game-spectators) too. The number of mines the chameleon can drop will be 3.
5) In order to make the chameleon not too powerful following things came to me (as a vision from the distant future ) - invisible mines (again - only to the enemies and spectators) will take much less damage than the real thing. Each mine should take about 10HP. So all 3 mines will do 30HP damage and with the explosion at the end (20HP) the chameleon will do max. 50 damage.

In Pocket Tanks there was a weapon, I think it was called Chemical Reaction. The weapon would fire like a rocket and destroy random chunks of land around it. I'd love to see something like this in hedgewars. It doesn't have to cause much damage to hedgehogs, only terrain.

I do think that Hedgewars needs more of the Special and Superweapons.
I would suggest things like:
Autocannon: A similar weapon to the Minigun, except that instead of shooting a huge number of bullets, it shoots a few large bullets. This would make it a more useful weapon.
Noisy Cricket: The small pistol from MIB. This is a superweapon that can deal 100 points of damage on a single strike, making it a one-shot kill unless the other hedgehog has healed up, or more likely, you don't point the shot exactly at the victim.
Pig: This fat, smelly animal wanders in a straight line. The first detonation causes it to pass gas, poisoning any hedgehogs in its way.
Speed Shoes: These Red Sneakers greatly increase a hogs movement rate and give him the ability to scale walls or even climb on ceilings. This is a much enhanced version of a similar (but not very useful) item from worms.
Angry God Thunderstrikes streak from the sky. This does a lot of damage, but the worms who are underground or lower on the terrain have less to fear.
Energy Drink Item that increases a hedgehog's HP. Probably increases it by something like 50 points to be worthwhile.
Shuriken Similar to a crossbow. Low damage, high knockback and if it misses, it leaves shurikens to wander across.
Ruby Slippers Functions like Teleport, except that you get to use it and then move afterward. This is a special item.
Pandemic Everyone gets poisoned/sickened. This is a superweapon.
Hedgewars needs more basic stuff omho. A superweapon tends to have huge destructive power. That's why I don't like playing games only with superweapons available. It ends fast and let's face it - you don't need to be much of a brain-guy to use a superweapon.

Grand piano strike = yes.
Fart attack = no. Don't even think about it. Maybe after the release of v1, but we wanna keep that weapon away for as long as possible.
I had a cool idea for a weapon, called the Stunner.
Here's the way my weapon works;
Basically, you can target a hedgehog on the map, you press space bar and the shot either stuns the hedgehog and/or hurts the hedgehog ( damage 5-12) it's more likely to hurt the hurt the hedgehog if he is closer, cause in real life, a shot like that could hurt at point blank. (if the hedgehog is stunned, it can't jump or move).
I also have an idea: How about the cigarette?
You can choose a hog to present a cigarette. That hog starts smoking. As you now smoking kills. So in every round the smoking hog loses about 10HP. Either the hog dies after a few rounds because he hasn't got any HP or the cigarette loses his Effect after 5 rounds or someting.
That wouldn't just be a tactical weapon, it also would be a pedagogical lection: Smoking Kills!
You know the Concrete Donkey from Worms? Suppose we made a weapon similar with the same effects? Such as a WRECKING BALL or something. You could use the ball and try to hit a foe hedgie and the wrecking ball would swing across the screen and crash into the ground and blow up!
See hog 1? He'll throw the ball in the direction of the other hogs and it will roll down and knock them in the water or someplace.
The bowling ball will not explode, it just rolls and hits hogs.
The ball will not go away unless it sinks, and after the hog drops it, the hog or any other hog on it's team can pick it up again, you will not receive more ammo from this. This weapon could be very useful!(Seriously now. I highly recomend this for the next release of Hedgewars!) I even made a sprite for it,

Speed Shoes: These Red Sneakers greatly increase a hogs movement rate and give him the ability to scale walls or even climb on ceilings. This is a much enhanced version of a similar (but not very useful) item from worms.
Angry God Thunderstrikes streak from the sky. This does a lot of damage, but the worms who are underground or lower on the terrain have less to fear.
Energy Drink Item that increases a hedgehog's HP. Probably increases it by something like 50 points to be worthwhile.
Shuriken Similar to a crossbow. Low damage, high knockback and if it misses, it leaves shurikens to wander across.
Ruby Slippers Functions like Teleport, except that you get to use it and then move afterward. This is a special item.
Pandemic Everyone gets poisoned/sickened. This is a superweapon.
Hedgewars needs more basic stuff omho. A superweapon tends to have huge destructive power. That's why I don't like playing games only with superweapons available. It ends fast and let's face it - you don't need to be much of a brain-guy to use a superweapon.

That's why the superweapons need to be in very limited supply - say 1 or 2 per game, and only released in the 2nd half.
Grand piano strike = yes.
Fart attack = no. Don't even think about it. Maybe after the release of v1, but we wanna keep that weapon away for as long as possible.
I had a cool idea for a weapon, called the Stunner.
Here's the way my weapon works;
Basically, you can target a hedgehog on the map, you press space bar and the shot either stuns the hedgehog and/or hurts the hedgehog ( damage 5-12) it's more likely to hurt the hurt the hedgehog if he is closer, cause in real life, a shot like that could hurt at point blank. (if the hedgehog is stunned, it can't jump or move).
Something similar is already on my list, however it's not a gun but a grenade (so requires some aiming skills).
I also have an idea: How about the cigarette?
You can choose a hog to present a cigarette. That hog starts smoking. As you now smoking kills. So in every round the smoking hog loses about 10HP. Either the hog dies after a few rounds because he hasn't got any HP or the cigarette loses his Effect after 5 rounds or someting.
That wouldn't just be a tactical weapon, it also would be a pedagogical lection: Smoking Kills!
hey, i suggest hogdrill.. it works like kamikaze but the hedgehog does not die. it is very useful when the hedgehog stucks..

You know the Concrete Donkey from Worms? Suppose we made a weapon similar with the same effects? Such as a WRECKING BALL or something. You could use the ball and try to hit a foe hedgie and the wrecking ball would swing across the screen and crash into the ground and blow up!
I have a new idea for a weapon, the Bowling Ball!
See hog 1? He'll throw the ball in the direction of the other hogs and it will roll down and knock them in the water or someplace.
The bowling ball will not explode, it just rolls and hits hogs.
The ball will not go away unless it sinks, and after the hog drops it, the hog or any other hog on it's team can pick it up again, you will not receive more ammo from this. This weapon could be very useful!(Seriously now. I highly recomend this for the next release of Hedgewars!) I even made a sprite for it,
